Involving patients, carers and the public
Newcastle West CCG is committed to involving patients, carers and the public in their care and in the planning and development of services.
We do this in a number of ways:
- Each practice is setting up a Patient Group to ask patients their opinions on:
- The services they provide
- Healthcare commissioned by Newcastle West CCG
- These Patient groups come together to form the Newcastle West Patient Forum. This met for the first time in January 2012 and will meet 4 times each year.
- Engaging with local voluntary and community sector organisations that provide essential support and a voice for patients
- Having voluntary and community sector representatives on our Newcastle West CCG Board
- When planning big changes to health and social care across the city, Newcastle Bridges will work with Newcastle City Council and other partners through the Wellbeing for Life Board to seek the views of patients, carers and service users.
